iGoogle is a customizable homepage featuring a Google search box and allows a user to choose from among hundreds of “gadgets”. The gadgets give the user access to information and activities all from the single source of the personalized page.

With the gadgets, it’s possible to view Gmail messages, stay updated with headlines from major news sources, keep abreast of stock quotes, weather forecasts, and movie showtimes, embed games, and store bookmarks for favorite sites from any computer. It allows Gmail users to chat from the iGoogle homepage without having to access gmail.com and is available in 42 languages for over 70 countries.

In addition to the many gadgets offered, users can create their own special gadgets to share with family and friends. An online wizard is provided that allow the user to create:

• “Framed Photo” gadget that displays a slideshow of photos
• “Daily Me” displaying the creator’s feelings and mood
• “GoogleGram” series of daily messages
• “YoutTube Channel” displaying videos
• “Free Form” allowing text and image of choice
• “Personal List” displaying a list of chosen items
• “Countdown” timer for an event or events
• “1Club.FM Free Internet Radio Player” that allows for over 80 free internet radio channels
