Blogger is a blog publishing system introduced by a small San Francisco company, Pyra Labs, in August 1999 in the midst of the dot-com boom. During the bust, the service managed to survive but with difficulty. New services were introduced by Google including a template editing interface, label organization, the ability to create private blogs using permissions and additional web feed options. Those with Blogger accounts may use a Google Toolbar feature, “BlogThis!”, allowing users to post links directly into their blogs.
