Joe Pulizzi is President and founder of the content marketing/custom publishing consulting company, Z Squared Media, LLC. Working with both marketers and custom content publishers, Z Squared Media offers innovative content-focused marketing strategies.
Pulizzi is the co-author with Newt Barrett of the 2008 book, Get Content Get Customers: Turn Prospects into Buyers with Content Marketing. The book explains ways of developing compelling content as a new way of marketing to gain an engaged and loyal customer base. He evangelizes on the topic in his Junta42 Blog.
The American Business Media‘s Custom Media Committee was launched with Pulizzi’s assistance in 2004, a committee he chaired from 2005 to 2007. He is also a member of the board for the Custom Publishing Council, a foremost organization advocating for corporate content and custom publishing initiatives. Pulizzi regularly contributes to the Custom Publishing Council blog.
Previous to Z Squared Media, Pulizzi served as vice president of custom media at Penton Media, Inc. for almost 10 years. His work led Penton Custom Media to become a leader in b2b custom publishing. He managed Penton’s reprints, a database publication and content syndication operation. Simultaneously, Pulizzi was the editor and publisher of B2B Marketing Trends and he published Fire Protection Engineering magazine.
Pulizzi has a BAC in Communications from Bowling Green State University and a MAC in Communications from Penn State University. He was voted a northeast Ohio’s “Top Mover and Shaker under 35” by the Cleveland Professional 20/30 club.
Junta42 was launched in August 2007 by Z Squared Media. Billed as “the go to site for content marketing and custom publishing”, it is a search engine/search community. It provides a “digg-like”community where users can vote for articles they like and where they can contribute their own articles.
